There are no links yet, so I guess we&#8217;ll have to go on his word. Meanwhile, Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) praises the Senate for it&#8217;s passage of the bill by unanimous consent;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOur nation can never fully express our gratitude for all that our men and women in uniform have experienced on our behalf. Their acts of valor helped ensure the safety and security of our nation, and the honor of their awards should never be compromised.  I would like to thank my good friend and fellow Nevadan, Congressman Joe Heck, for his leadership in the House on this issue and look forward to the bill moving to President Obama for signature,\u201d said Senator Dean Heller.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=35743\">The bill passed on Monday in the House<\/a> and now heads to the White House before it becomes the law of the land. <a href=\"http:\/\/thomas.loc.gov\/cgi-bin\/query\/z?c113:S.210:\">They passed the text of the House&#8217;s version which reads thusly<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>SEC. 2. FRAUDULENT REPRESENTATIONS ABOUT RECEIPT OF MILITARY DECORATIONS OR MEDALS.<\/p>\n<p>    (a) In General- Section 704 of title 18, United States Code, is amended&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>        (1) in subsection (a), by striking `wears,&#8217;; and<\/p>\n<p>        (2) so that subsection (b) reads as follows:<\/p>\n<p>    `(b) Fraudulent Representations About Receipt of Military Decorations or Medals- Whoever, with intent to obtain money, property, or other tangible benefit, fraudulently holds oneself out to be a recipient of a decoration or medal described in subsection (c)(2) or (d) shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than one year, or both.&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>    (b) Addition of Certain Other Medals- Section 704(d) of title 18, United States Code, is amended&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>        (1) by striking `If a decoration&#8217; and inserting the following:<\/p>\n<p>        `(1) IN GENERAL- If a decoration&#8217;;<\/p>\n<p>        (2) by inserting `a combat badge,&#8217; after `1129 of title 10,&#8217;; and<\/p>\n<p>        (3) by adding at the end the following:<\/p>\n<p>        `(2) COMBAT BADGE DEFINED- In this subsection, the term `combat badge&#8217; means a Combat Infantryman&#8217;s Badge, Combat Action Badge, Combat Medical Badge, Combat Action Ribbon, or Combat Action Medal.&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>    (c) Conforming Amendment- Section 704 of title 18, United States Code, is amended in each of subsections (c)(1) and (d) by striking `or (b)&#8217;.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a link to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/18\/704\">18 USC 704<\/a> as it currently exists for your edification.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TSO tells us that the Senate passed the 2013 version of the Stolen Valor Act, less &hellip; <a title=\"Senate Passes Stolen Valor Act 2013 unanimously\" class=\"hm-read-more\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=35778\"><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Senate Passes Stolen Valor Act 2013 unanimously<\/span>Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[183],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-35778","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-stolen-valor-act"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/35778","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=35778"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/35778\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=35778"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=35778"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=35778"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
