{"id":35651,"date":"2013-05-16T09:48:13","date_gmt":"2013-05-16T13:48:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=35651"},"modified":"2013-05-16T09:48:13","modified_gmt":"2013-05-16T13:48:13","slug":"jersey-shore-frauds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=35651","title":{"rendered":"Jersey Shore frauds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earl sends us a link to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.app.com\/article\/20130506\/NJNEWS14\/305060051\/Jersey-Shore-pair-indicted-bogus-9-11-charity?nclick_check=1\">Ashbury Park Press<\/a> which reports about some fraudsters who pretended to sell 9\/11 memorabilia for charity, but apparently, the only charities they helped were in their own pockets;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Mark Niemczyk, 66, of Tinton Falls and Thomas Scalgione, 41, of Stafford sold T-shirts and collected donations at 9\/11 events, but never gave any of the more than $50,000 in proceeds to the victims\u2019 families or to 9\/11 charities as promised, according to a statement from the state Office of the Attorney General.<\/p>\n<p>The pair was indicted Friday on third-degree charges of conspiracy and theft by deception. Niemczyk is additionally charged with third-degree failure to file a personal state income tax return in 2011.
