{"id":35636,"date":"2013-05-16T05:15:51","date_gmt":"2013-05-16T09:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=35636"},"modified":"2013-05-16T05:22:58","modified_gmt":"2013-05-16T09:22:58","slug":"even-more-about-that-irs-thing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=35636","title":{"rendered":"Another &#8220;IRS Thing&#8221; Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some additional revelations regarding the ongoing IRS scandal that came out in the past 24 hours:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>USA Today reports that an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2013\/05\/14\/irs-gave-progressives-a-pass-tea-party-groups-put-on-hold\/2159983\/\">analysis of statistics regarding political groups applying for tax-exempt status<\/a> shows clear bias against conservative and in favor of liberal groups on the part of the IRS from 2009-2011.\u00a0 Organizations whose titles self-identified them as conservative organizations were slow-rolled; organizations whose titles self-identified them as liberal were apparently expedited.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/guybenson\/2013\/05\/15\/reports-irs-spared-liberal-groups-as-tea-party-languished-more-conservative-orgs-targeted-than-first-thought-n1596864\">Close to 500 groups<\/a> appear to have been targeted by the IRS, and maybe more.\u00a0 The Administration originally claimed 75..<\/li>\n<li>A prominent Catholic academic was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/stories\/2013\/05\/15\/exclusive-prominent-catholic-prof-claims-irs-audited-her-after-speaking-out-against-obama-and-demanded-to-know-who-was-paying-her\/\">audited by the IRS in 2010 after publicly opposing\u00a0 Administration allies and\/or policies<\/a>.\u00a0 She was asked \u201cwho was paying her\u201d; attempts were made to keep her husband, with whom she files jointly, from being present at the audit.\u00a0 Many of the questions asked at the audit were reportedly of a political vice financial nature.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/Big-Government\/2013\/05\/14\/Obama-campaign-co-chair-attacked-Romney-conservative-group-in-2012-with-leaked-IRS-scandal-documents\">One of the co-chairmen of the POTUS\u2019s re-election committee<\/a> has been accused of receiving and using unlawfully leaked IRS information against Mitt Romney.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2013\/05\/the-irs-wants-you-to-share-everything-91378.html\">Among the information requested by the IRS from conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status<\/a> were donor rolls, copies of Facebook posts, resumes, descriptions of media interviews, what issues the group considered \u201cimportant to them\u201d, copies of web pages, copies of blog posts, and in at least one case members\u2019 recent reading preferences.\u00a0 The IRS also asked at times if anyone in a conservative group applying for tax-exempt status knew other selected individuals \u2013 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>by name<\/em><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>The IRS cursory, \u201cscratch the surface\u201d IG Investigation into the issue itself is titled <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/public\/resources\/documents\/TIGTA-201310053fr-revised-redacted-1.pdf\">\u201cInappropriate Criteria Were Used to Identify Tax-Exempt Applications for Review\u201d<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Even Chuck Rangel \u2013 himself hardly a shining example of ethical conduct himself \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2013\/05\/charlie-rangel-irs-associated-press-comments-91398.html?hp=r6\">has publicly stated that the Presidents answers to date have been lacking<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>The Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/corner\/348399\/committee-chairman-yes-i-was-lied-irs\">ain&#8217;t too happy about being lied to during Congressional testimony by a top IRS officials<\/a>, including a former Director..<\/li>\n<li>Lower-level IRS employees in Cincinnati apparently have stated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fox19.com\/story\/22265631\/four-cincy-irs-workers-not-two-allegedly-connected-to-scandal\">&#8220;&#8221;they simply did what their bosses ordered&#8221;<\/a>.
