So, some guy named Bill Richardson is telling us that Ted Cruz, you know, a guy with an actual Hispanic name isn’t Latino enough to represent the concerns of brown people. Or something. Hell, I’m more Latino than Richardson; at least I have an “a” on the end of my last name and have to speak the language everyday of my life in my house. And I watch Azteca TV’s weird news program, Al Extremo, every night. From Breitbart<\/a>;<\/p>\n

ABC News: Do you think he represents most Hispanics with his politics?<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, no. He\u2019s anti-immigration. Almost every Hispanic in the country wants to see immigration reform. No, I don\u2019t think he should be defined as a Hispanic. He\u2019s a politician from Texas. A conservative state. And I respect Texas\u2019 choice. But what I don\u2019t like is\u2026 when you try to get things done, it\u2019s okay to be strong and state your views, your ideology. But I\u2019ve seen him demean the office, be rude to other senators, not be part of, I think, the civility that is really needed in Washington.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, apparently, you can’t be an Hispanic if you don’t adhere to the liberal line. I think Cruz represents the core beliefs of the Latino community better than Richardson and a majority of the community understand. My wife, a legal immigrant who jumps through hoops every couple of years to remain here, doesn’t think much of immigration reform. I suppose she’s not Hispanic enough for Richardson, either.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
