Last week, the U.S. Senate rejected a bill to expand background checks on gun purchases, legislation that opponents argued would do nothing to stop criminals from buying guns illegally.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Oh, my goodness, you mean the gun-crazed people in the &#8220;national discussion&#8221; were right, even though they were called liars by the president, the vice president and anyone else quoted by the media?
