Gun grabbing Democrat Christopher Murphy, Senator from Connecticut, a place where I’m guessing there’s a lot of room between NASCAR fans, wrote to Rupert Murdoch to convince the CEO of News Corp, which owns Fox, to not broadcast the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series because of NRA’s sponsorship.

“The horror that unfolded on December 14th at Sandy Hook Elementary School has sparked a national conversation about the adequacy of our gun laws,” Murphy wrote to Murdoch. “Considering your support of sane gun control measures and the extreme nature of the NRA, I urge you to not broadcast this race on April 13th. Inserting Fox Sports in this debate at this critical time will give credence to an extreme organization that is opposed to reasonable policies to stem gun violence.”

Yeah, the NRA behaved as properly as they could after the Sandy Hook shootings – they stayed silent out of respect for the victims. It’s the gun grabbers who acted like tools – calling for the NRA to be quiet, and then criticizing the organization when they stayed quiet. And instead of blaming the perpetrators of the crime, Adam Lanza and his mother, they blame the millions of gun owners who took no part in the crime. And, I’m betting good money that there are more NRA members among NASCAR fans than gun grabbers, so NASCAR’s carefully measured statement will probably be criticized by fans everywhere. From ESPN;

“The NRA’s sponsorship of the event at Texas Motor Speedway fit within existing parameters that NASCAR affords tracks in securing partnerships,” said NASCAR spokesman David Higdon. “However, this situation has made it clear that we need to take a closer look at our approval process moving forward, as current circumstances need to be factored in when making decisions.”

Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage, on Friday criticized Higdon’s statement, says The Blaze;

“I would say about Mr. Higdon is, I think he’s new to the sport and doesn’t quite understand how it all works,” Gossage told local ESPN Dallas radio host Randy Galloway. “And he could have just as easily put out a quote that said C.Y.A. [cover your ass]. That’s what that is.”

“It’s a PR mistake to have made that statement,” he added. “They should have conferred with some other folks before they issued that.”

Yeah, if I was NASCAR, I’d stay out of the whole fight, and leave the NRA alone. The reason that the NRA sponsors races is because most of the fans are legal gun owners, and if some effete, sniveling Leftist gun grabber from the northeast wants to tell NASCAR how to do their business, he should buy himself a seat on the board instead of sniping from behind his seat in Congress. If voters in Connecticut want more gun laws and to abandon their God-given rights, that’s fine, but they need to leave the rest of us alone.

We already know how Connecticut voters choose their representation – they put a Stolen Valor criminal in the Senate right before our eyes.

Eggs and ROS send us links to the story that gun grabbers are bullying NASCAR in … Gun grabbers bully NASCARRead more

[82

post-35100","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-gun-grabbing-fascists
["GET
