{"id":35014,"date":"2013-04-09T11:17:40","date_gmt":"2013-04-09T15:17:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=35014"},"modified":"2013-04-09T11:17:49","modified_gmt":"2013-04-09T15:17:49","slug":"how-to-make-an-angry-dad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=35014","title":{"rendered":"How to make an angry Dad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROS sends us a link to a <a href=\"http:\/\/radio.foxnews.com\/toddstarnes\/top-stories\/school-americans-dont-have-right-to-bear-arms.html\">Fox News<\/a> article about a father who was looking over his 8th grade son&#8217;s homework and found a worksheet;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On Monday his social studies teacher gave students a worksheet titled, \u2018The Second Amendment Today.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe courts have consistently determined that the Second Amendment does not ensure each individual the right to bear arms,\u201d the worksheet states. \u201cThe courts have never found a law regulating the private ownership of weapons unconstitutional.amendment<\/p>\n<p>The worksheet, published by Instructional Fair, goes on to say that the Second Amendment is not incorporated against the states.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis means that the rights of this amendment are not extended to the individual citizens of the states,\u201d the worksheet reads. \u201cSo a person has no right to complain about a Second Amendment violation by state laws.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the document, the Second Amendment \u201conly provides the right of a state to keep an armed National Guard.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I guess these Instructional Fair folks have never heard of the District of Columbia v. Heller in which the Supreme Court found the District&#8217;s laws against gun ownership to be unconstitutional. It was in all of the papers. If, I&#8217;m not mistaken, Illinois is dealing with the same &#8220;problem&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s no wonder that folks think we need more regulations when they&#8217;re being fed tripe like this in school.
