{"id":34719,"date":"2013-03-24T08:30:49","date_gmt":"2013-03-24T12:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=34719"},"modified":"2013-03-24T08:31:18","modified_gmt":"2013-03-24T12:31:18","slug":"bloombergs-big-lie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=34719","title":{"rendered":"Bloomberg&#8217;s big lie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ex-PH2 sends us <a href=\"http:\/\/usnews.nbcnews.com\/_news\/2013\/03\/23\/17433482-bloomberg-mayor-group-behind-12-million-gun-control-campaign?lite\">a link to an article about this<\/a>, the latest video ad from Nanny Bloomberg&#8217;s Mayors Against Illegal Guns crowd;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tgQlIXvrMLU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>the video has a dingus with a gun sitting on the tailgate of his truck and his kids playing in the background &#8211; because he&#8217;s just like us. I always sit on the tailgate of my pickup with my gun, don&#8217;t you? Well, anyway he tells us how he&#8217;ll fight for his gun rights and then he says that &#8220;background checks have nothing to do with taking guns away from anyone&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>But then, Goober, tell me why the new background checks provision of that bill in the Senate requires that there&#8217;s a method for keeping records of those background checks and purchases? If it was a about background checks, after a buyer&#8217;s eligibility to own guns has been established, why would anyone need an archived copy of the purchase?<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg and his minions claim that 86 percent of voters support background checks. Sure, put me in that number, too, I support background checks for 100% of gun purchases, but I don&#8217;t support keeping a record of those purchases. I also support background checks for every purchase in a back alley or out of the trunk of a car &#8211; but nothing in this bill will stop criminals from transferring guns. The only people who will take the time to go somewhere and have a background check performed will be the law abiding citizens. And the only reason for keeping a record of those purchases is to eventually register guns and eventually confiscate guns.<\/p>\n<p>Goober on the tailgate doesn&#8217;t understand the bill, and neither do those 86 percent of voters that Mayors Against Illegal Guns touts as the reason the Senate should pass the bill.
