Dan sends us the story from one of his friends about this phony SpecOps warrior spotted at Walmart on Skibo Road in Fayetteville, NC – probably the toughest town in which to be a phony SpecOps warrior. But here’s the story the way it was sent to me;<\/p>\n
” HI EVERYONE!! Today we’re going to play the “I pose as a special forces
\nsoldier and then convince everyone to give me money” game.<\/p>\n
Meet “SFC” Coombs, he is most popular for making appearances at the Wal-Mart
\non Skibo and talking like a green beret from Hollywood.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately for Mr. Coombs, he failed the questionnaire given by SPC Hunt.
\nFor all you posers out there: if a “leg” soldier asks you what the 4th week
\nof airborne school is like, it would f*cking behoove you to inform him that
\nthere are only 3 weeks in Army Airborne School, not 4. Also, when he asks
\nyou what the hardest part of the 18 Delta Course is like (since a very good
\nfriend of mine is an SF medic), you might not want to say language. As my
\nfriend told me, language was the easiest part of the actual pipeline. Again,
\nyou fail.<\/p>\n
Mr. Coombs, although I appreciate your admiration for our armed services,
\nand although I realize that posing as a soldier is not a crime, I must end
\nby saying thank-you for the tab which you didn’t earn. You can have it back
\nwhen you complete the Special Forces pipeline, motherf#cker. I guess you’ll
\ntake real soldiers more seriously when they tell you that they aren’t
\nleaving until they take the tab off of your uniform.<\/p>\n
PS, if you’re going to act tough when a paratrooper takes your fake tab off
\nof your shoulder and then back away when he gets his fists up for a fight,
\nyou might want your last words to be manly instead of, “I just got you for
\nassault. You’re going to jail.”<\/p>\n
