From our buddy, JammieWearingFool<\/a>, Legacy Governor Cuomo has decided that his law restricting firearm magazines to seven rounds isn’t practical since there’s no such thing (well, except for standard 1911-style magazines – but I think even those have been generally expanded to eight rounds) so he has to remake the law;<\/p>\n

As a result, he said, he and legislative leaders were negotiating language that would continue to allow the sale of magazines holding up to 10 rounds, but still forbid New Yorkers from loading more than 7 rounds into those magazines.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no such thing as a seven-bullet magazine,\u201d Mr. Cuomo said at a news conference. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t exist. So you really have no practical option.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

You’d almost think that they don’t know what they’re talking about, either while they were writing their law or now. So, let’s recap, shall we? First they didn’t realize that they had restricted magazine capacity for the police and police retirees, now they’re coming to the realization that no one makes magazines for their specifications, although we’ve been telling them for weeks.<\/p>\n

I’m still wondering what they meant when they said something about arresting a homeowner who is “found” to have more than seven rounds in a magazine. Are they going to start searching homes, or is that on tips from their new hotline for snitches with axes to grind with the neighbor?<\/p>\n
