The other day, Harry Reid decided that he wouldn’t include a scary-looking gun ban in the Senate’s package of gun control regulations, mostly because of the midterm elections next year. A gun ban based on purely cosmetic features of weapons would most certainly cost the Democrats the Senate and House. But that doesn’t deter the White House and Joe Bite Me from trying to force a vote, according to The Hil<\/a>l;<\/p>\n

“I believe that the vast majority of the American people agree with us, the vast majority of gun owners agree with us, that military-style assault weapons are \u2014 these are weapons of war; they don’t belong in the street,” Biden said. “And [in] the recent decision declaring the right of someone to own a weapon in their home for self-protection, Justice [Antonin] Scalia acknowledged that you can constitutionally ban certain types of weapons. So I’m not going to give up on this.”<\/p>\n
