Ex-PH2 sends a link from a Texas Public Radio<\/a> article about Nanny Bloomberg who doesn’t care that he’s screwing up the city of New York badly enough, he’s spending his money in the primary elections for Jesse Jackson, Jr.’s congressional seat in Chicago later this week.<\/p>\n

Chicago is also where the billionaire mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, is flexing the muscle of his gun control superPAC by spending, as of late Friday, $2.2 million on the race. For those keeping score, that’s four times what the top five candidates’ campaigns have spent \u2014 combined. Most of that money has gone to attack former Rep. Debbie Halvorson, with the rest building up Robin Kelly, the former administrator of Cook County and a former state representative.<\/p>\n

Because Halvorson is the only white candidate in the primary, originally facing nearly two dozen African-Americans, there was a reasonable chance she would win a slim plurality with the black vote splintering so many different ways.<\/p>\n

In fact, polls early on showed her leading \u2014 but that was before Bloomberg’s Independence USA PAC unleashed a pair of TV ads and a series of mailers against her and her positions on guns. Now, days ahead of the vote, Kelly appears to be in the lead, with a pair of other top contenders having dropped out. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Bloomberg’s ads criticize Halvorson for her A+ rating from the NRA, so he counters NRA money and support for his money and support. The difference is that the NRA’s money represents the voices of millions of American members and Bloomberg’s money represents one millionaire’s point-of-view. Maybe Chicagoans don’t have enough bullshit in their crappy lives, they need Nanny Bloomberg to make their choices for them as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
