{"id":33901,"date":"2013-02-01T06:02:02","date_gmt":"2013-02-01T10:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=33901"},"modified":"2013-02-01T06:02:11","modified_gmt":"2013-02-01T10:02:11","slug":"holocaust-denial-not-just-for-iran-any-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=33901","title":{"rendered":"Holocaust Denial:  Not Just for Iran Any More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Remember when the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, caused an outcry by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2009\/09\/21\/ahmadinejad-holocaust-den_n_293083.html\">publicly denying the Holocaust<\/a> a few years ago?\u00a0 You know, when he claimed the Holocaust never happened?\u00a0 And claimed to be proud of making that ridiculous statement?<\/p>\n<p>Well, Ahmadinejad now has some help in spouting this ridiculous BS.\u00a0 And it\u2019s high-level help, as in a senior member of another Islamic nation\u2019s government.<\/p>\n<p>That company comes in the person of Fathi Shihab-Eddim, a senior official close to Egypt\u2019s President Mohammed Morsi.\u00a0 Shibab-Eddim was recently quoted as saying that the Holocaust was a hoax perpetrated by US intelligence agencies.\u00a0 He further claims the 6 million Jews killed during the Holocaust simply moved to the US, and that the true number killed was about the same as the number who died in traffic accidents.<\/p>\n<p>Seriously.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/2013\/01\/29\/aide-to-egyptian-president-morsi-claims-holocaust-us-hoax\/\">That\u2019s really what Shibab-Eddim claimed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Shihab-Eddim also happens to be the individual who appoints editors for Egypt\u2019s state-run newspapers.\u00a0 So I guess we won\u2019t be seeing many accurate accounts of the Holocaust in Egyptian newspapers or media any time soon.<\/p>\n<p>This should be no surprise, though.\u00a0 The Muslim Brotherhood \u2013 with which both Morsi and Shibab-Eddim are affiliated \u2013 and other Islamist organizations have a long history of anti-Semitism.\u00a0 In 2010, Morsi opined that Jews were \u201cthe descendants of apes and pigs\u201d.\u00a0 (Though Morsi claims these words were \u201ctaken out of context\u201d, research indicates he\u2019d made numerous similar statements before coming to power in Egypt.)\u00a0 It&#8217;s only a small step from there to outright Holocaust denial.<\/p>\n<p>And remember: these are the same folks to whom the current Administration is sending massive amounts of US aid \u2013 including 20 F16s and 200 M1 tanks.<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, supporting those Arab Spring uprisings is <i>really<\/i> starting to look like a great idea, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember when the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, caused an outcry by publicly denying the Holocaust a &hellip; <a title=\"Holocaust Denial:  Not Just for Iran Any More\" class=\"hm-read-more\" href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=33901\"><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">Holocaust Denial:  Not Just for Iran Any More<\/span>Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":623,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[9,7],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-33901","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-foreign-policy","category-terror-war"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/33901","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/623"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=33901"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/33901\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=33901"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=33901"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=33901"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
