Well, good old \u201cChuckles the Clown\u201d Schumer, D-NY, is at it again – opening his mouth and spouting idiocy.\u00a0 Anyone surprised?<\/p>\n

Seems that Chuckles gave an interview with HuffPost Live the other day.\u00a0 You know, HuffPo \u2013that major online wannabe liberal media outlet that pays its authors and contributors so well?<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what Chuckles had to say<\/a> when asked about whether his colleagues were \u201cwilling to admit\u201d that the NRA is a \u201cfringe group\u201d:<\/p>\n

\u201cWell they sure are a fringe group, but whether enough of my colleagues are ready to admit that, I\u2019m not sure.<\/p>\n

They are a very extreme group.\u00a0 They don\u2019t even represent average gun holders.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A \u201cfringe group\u201d?\u00a0 Hardly, Chuckles.\u00a0 By definition, a \u201cfringe group\u201d is viewed favorably by a small minority, with a large majority viewing them unfavorably.<\/p>\n

According to the latest NBC\/WSJ polling<\/a>, 41% of Americans view the NRA favorably; 34%, unfavorable.\u00a0 Same favorable percentage as two years ago, as a matter of fact.\u00a0 And much better than in the 1990s, when the NRA was “underwater” (e.g., higher percentage of unfavorable views than favorable).<\/p>\n

In comparison, 24% of Americans view the entertainment industry favorably, while 39% view the entertainment industry negatively.<\/p>\n

Congress?\u00a0 According to the most recent RCP polling (7-17 Jan 2013)<\/a>, try an approval rate of a bit over 15% – and a disapproval <\/i>rate of close to 80%.\u00a0 Now<\/span> we\u2019re getting close to \u201cfringe group\u201d territory.<\/p>\n
