{"id":33576,"date":"2013-01-10T15:43:32","date_gmt":"2013-01-10T19:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=33576"},"modified":"2013-01-10T15:43:32","modified_gmt":"2013-01-10T19:43:32","slug":"longer-floats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=33576","title":{"rendered":"Longer floats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2013\/jan\/10\/navy-stretch-deployments\/\">The Washington Times<\/a> reports that the Navy says that their sailors and Marines are going to be on longer sea duty tours because the USS Enterprise has been retired and the USS Lincoln is undergoing four years of refitting and maintenance bringing the number of carrier groups to nine;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe need 11 carriers to do the job. That\u2019s been pretty clearly written, and that\u2019s underwritten in our defense strategic guidance,\u201d Adm. Jonathan Greenert, chief of naval operations, said recently.<\/p>\n<p>Carrier deployments have lengthened gradually over the past decade, from six months to as long as nine months.<\/p>\n<p>Adm.
