{"id":32290,"date":"2012-10-08T12:26:37","date_gmt":"2012-10-08T16:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=32290"},"modified":"2012-10-08T12:26:37","modified_gmt":"2012-10-08T16:26:37","slug":"ambassador-had-asked-for-continued-support-from-sst","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=32290","title":{"rendered":"Ambassador had asked for continued support from SST"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jake Tapper at <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/blogs\/politics\/2012\/10\/security-team-commander-says-ambassador-stevens-wanted-his-team-to-stay-in-libya-past-august-2\/\">ABC News<\/a> reports that Ambassador Stevens ad requested that the Security Support Team stay past their August deadline to leave Libya. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The embassy staff\u2019s \u201cfirst choice was for us to stay,\u201d Lt. Col. Andrew Wood, 55, told ABC News in an interview. \u201cThat would have been the choice of the embassy people in Tripoli.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But a senior State Department official told ABC News that the embassy\u2019s Regional Security Officer never specifically requested that the SST\u2019s tour be extended past August, and the official maintained there was no net loss of security personnel.
