Beretverde sends a link from the Atlanta Constitution<\/a> about the sentencing of two old coots they call “military veterans” without giving us the branch of service or their specialties or how it related to their dastardly plot. What they learned in high school probably had more to do their plans than anything they learned in the military.<\/p>\n

And when I call them old coots, that’s exactly what they are;<\/p>\n

[Emory] Roberts, 68, of Toccoa, and [Frederick] Thomas, 73, of Cleveland, are military veterans who prosecutors say targeted the IRS and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives buildings in downtown Atlanta between March and November of 2011.<\/p>\n

“They were talking about killing judges, killing IRS personnel, killing federal employees,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Brown told the judge. “They were talking about buying explosives to blow up buildings … buying a silencer to kill [people] silently.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yeah, they also talked about making ricin<\/a> from castor beans and spreading it by pouring it out the window of a speeding car all the way up the East Coast. I’m not sure how well that would have worked, considering how much powder you’d have to have to pour it out while driving up the coast.<\/p>\n

Federal authorities said the men held clandestine militia meetings, beginning in March, in which they discussed using toxic agents and assassinations to undermine federal and state government. Militia members also discussed how to obtain firearms, ammunition and silencers, the FBI affidavit said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Their “clandestine meetings” were held at the local Waffle House<\/a> – where else would you expect nutty old coots in North Georgia to hold their meetings?<\/p>\n

There were four of them. The other two were the spring chickens of the terrorist cabal; Ray H. Adams, 65, and Samuel J. Crump, 68. Now, I know I’m not far behind them chronologically, but what else do you call four guys who haven’t seen a morning military formation in probably 40 years. They were a bigger danger to themselves than anyone else. <\/p>\n

But, thankfully, for the media and the feds, they finally caught themselves some veterans who were talking trash at the Waffle House. Good job guys. You should probably be watching the rest of, too. I’ve been holding my clandestine meetings at IHOP, because, well, you know, I part of a younger generation and that’s how we roll.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
