He then went to the store\u2019s foyer, pulled his knife, and began stabbing people.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abc4.com\/content\/about_4\/bios\/story\/conceal-and-carry-stabbing-salt-lake-city-smiths\/NDNrL1gxeE2rsRhrWCM9dQ.cspx\">Two people were seriously injured<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A third individual in the area apparently decided not to wait for police to arrive and took matters into his own hands.  He pulled his firearm, pointed it directly at the man wielding the knife, and told him to drop his knife or he\u2019d be shot.<\/p>\n<p>The knife-wielder complied.  He was subdued by Smiths\u2019 employees and shoppers, and turned over to the police when they arrived.<\/p>\n<p>Concealed carry by law-abiding citizens is a good thing.
