{"id":30944,"date":"2012-07-19T19:07:04","date_gmt":"2012-07-19T23:07:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=30944"},"modified":"2012-07-19T19:16:03","modified_gmt":"2012-07-19T23:16:03","slug":"dod-authorizes-wear-of-uniform-at-pride-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=30944","title":{"rendered":"DoD authorizes wear of uniform at pride activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From NBC&#8217;s affiliate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcsandiego.com\/news\/local\/All-Military-Personnel-Allowed-to-Wear-Uniforms-at-Pride-163086546.html\">Channel 7<\/a> in San Diego comes the news that the Pentagon has authorized military members to wear their uniforms at the gay pride activities scheduled in San Diego this weekend;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Based on our current knowledge of the event and existing policies,&#8221; the memo read, &#8220;we hereby are granting approval for service members in uniform to participate in this year&#8217;s parade, provided service members participate in their personal capacity and ensure the adherence to Military Service standards of appearance and wear of the military uniform.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Local commanders previously had the authority to grant military personnel to wear their uniforms. However, approval at a higher level was granted &#8220;now since the event has garnered national media attention,&#8221; the memo stated. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So the Pentagon has capitulated to political pressure from the &#8220;national media attention&#8221;.
