{"id":30915,"date":"2012-07-24T10:42:57","date_gmt":"2012-07-24T14:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=30915"},"modified":"2012-07-24T17:36:16","modified_gmt":"2012-07-24T21:36:16","slug":"this-had-to-be-kinda-embarrassing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=30915","title":{"rendered":"This Had to Be Kinda Embarrassing . . . ."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dunno if everyone caught this, but apparently late last week the crew of an<a href=\"http:\/\/www.baynews9.com\/content\/news\/baynews9\/news\/article.html\/content\/news\/articles\/bn9\/2012\/7\/20\/large_military_cargo.html\"> ANG C17 made a minor error<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Well, maybe \u201cminor error&#8221; is a slight understatement. The error consisted of landing on a 3,500\u2019 runway at an airport on an island near Tampa vice the 11,000\u2019 runway at MacDill AFB a few miles away.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m guessing that landing certainly made for a high APF day for those onboard.<\/p>\n<p>There was no crash, and the aircraft was apparently not seriously damaged. It was later able \u2013 after removing cargo and pax \u2013 to fly out and return to operational use.<\/p>\n<p>Kudos to the pilot for managing to land safely on a very short runway. But I\u2019m guessing he or she has a bit of explaining to do.
