How many know what the notch is for?<\/p>\n

Can’t stand it… I was certain I knew, but there is an alternative explanation <\/a>I can not ignore. For 40 years I believed this:<\/p>\n

The “notch” was\u00a0 a\u00a0“tooth notch”<\/em>\u00a0for placing the dog tag between the teeth of a deceased soldier.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The “notch” was\u00a0 an aid to\u00a0“start”<\/em>\u00a0the dog tag between the teeth when you\u00a0“kicked”<\/em>\u00a0the tag into place on a deceased soldier.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
