They’re called “Walts” across the pond in England, referring to the James Thurber short story “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”, which was first published in The New Yorker on March 18, 1939, about the meek little man who escapes his harpie wife and miserably mundane life inside his mind with his fabricated adventures. According to the UK’s Daily Mirror<\/a>, British veterans are fed up with them;<\/p>\n

Campaigners said it was a \u201cshameful indictment\u201d on the Coalition that fakers can get away with their lies.<\/p>\n

SAS veteran and former 1 Para soldier Robert Henry Craft said: \u201cNot only do we want to expose them as pathetic individuals, we want them punished.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shamed novelist Mark Powell, 47, was uncovered in January last year for lying about his \u201cSAS past\u201d.<\/p>\n

The 47 year-old claimed he had been on covert operations and was credited in TV interviews as a Special Forces security expert.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They’ve set up their own website at Walter Mitty Hunt<\/a><\/p>\n

We urge you to join in with the hunt, and help us to “out the Walt” these FAKE War Veterans and Emergency Service personnel?<\/p>\n

These Walts are everywhere:<\/p>\n

In virtually every single pub and club in the country,
\n buying our “stolen” medals on e-bay,
\n parading on Remembrance Sunday and throughout the British Legion, 365 days of the year,
\n giving it the “big one” saying they were 1029th man on the balcony,
\n or boasting “I was the first one up the beach in ’82”.<\/p>\n

Walts are idiots! They really are! We’ve even caught them red handed in “some” anti-Walts pages of Facebook!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
