I know you’ve all been wondering with the news the other day that some Occu-tards had planned to blow up a bridge near Cleveland whether the Southern Poverty Law Center would begin tracking the Occupados like they did the Hutarees or the militias. According to Charles C. W. Cooke at National Review OnLine<\/a>, the answer is an unsurprisingly resounding ‘no’;<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you have any plans to start tracking Occupy Wall Street after a hate group tried to blow up a bridge?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I don\u2019t think so,\u201d he said. \u201cWe blogged it right away when it happened.\u201d I asked him why he thought this deserved only a blog post, and he explained that the SPLC only deals with \u201chatred of people based on class characteristics,\u201d which a little more pushing revealed meant \u201cimmutable characteristics such as a person\u2019s eye or skin color.\u201d \u201cSo,\u201d I asked, \u201cOccupy doesn\u2019t count because it doesn\u2019t hate people based on their innate characteristics?\u201d He assented, but didn\u2019t explain adequately why SPLC is vocal on \u201cIslamophobia,\u201d for example \u2014 whatever Islam is, it is not an \u201cimmutable\u201d characteristic \u2014 and why it concerns itself with matters of traditionalist Catholic theology.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did go after the eco-terrorists,\u201d he told me. \u201cBut that was because they\u2019d adopted the same tactics as the abortion activists: vilification, the use of \u2018Wanted\u2019 posters, highlighting the names and whereabouts of people\u2019s children and spouses.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yeah, if the SPLC only goes after \u201chatred of people based on class characteristics\u201d, don’t these Occutards qualify since the class of people they hate are those of us with jobs? Or, at least those of us with jobs who drive over bridges.<\/p>\n

But, you need to read the whole interview in order to get the full retard effect. At least the interviewee finally admits that they’re only interested in “Right-wing” groups and only with leftist groups if they are somehow related to the Right. <\/p>\n
