{"id":29608,"date":"2012-04-21T11:05:53","date_gmt":"2012-04-21T15:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=29608"},"modified":"2012-04-21T11:05:53","modified_gmt":"2012-04-21T15:05:53","slug":"dave-groves-surprise-hires-lawyer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=29608","title":{"rendered":"Dave Groves&#8230;surprise&#8230;hires lawyer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kristen Moulton of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sltrib.com\/sltrib\/news\/53957399-78\/groves-pows-vietnam-database.html.csp\">Salt lake City Tribune<\/a> writes that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=29518\">the phony POW we discussed<\/a> the other day, Dave Groves is compounding his fakery by bringing a shyster into the mix and making his wife lie for him;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;He\u2019s a typical liar,&#8221; said Mike McGrath, historian of Nam-Pow, a nonprofit organization of Vietnam prisoners of war. &#8220;There are 540 of us still alive from Vietnam, and we have 3,000 wannabees who want to be us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Groves, who has hired an attorney after a week of online challenges to his truthfulness, insists he was a POW who for unexplained reasons does not appear in the Pentagon\u2019s database.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are retaining legal counsel. Until then we have no further comment except to say these accusations are entirely false and defamatory,&#8221; Groves\u2019 wife, Fran Groves, said Friday afternoon.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeah, I want to meet the lawyer who has so few scruples that he&#8217;d take this case which is a slam dunk against Groves. Word on the street is that Utah&#8217;s veterans ain&#8217;t lettin&#8217; this one go and the needles are pointed down at Groves.
