I thought it was pretty ridiculous when the Democrats called Bush’s moves against Iraq as a “rush to war” over the agonizing months it took him to do it. But I didn’t know that a “rush to war” can take thirty years in the Veterans Today<\/a> time zone;<\/p>\n

You have the power to stop the madness, and we give you some recommendations on how to lessen the likelihood of a war that would be to the advantage of no one but the arms merchants.<\/p>\n

If your advisers have persuaded you that hostilities with Iran would bring benefit to Israel, they are badly mistaken. In our view, war with Iran is just as likely in the longer term to bring the destruction of Israel, as well as vast areas of Iran \u2014 not even to mention the disastrous consequences for the world economy, of which you must be aware.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that Iran has at been war with us since the first student broke through the gates of our embassy in Tehran in 1979. I’m also certain that it’s Iran who is rattling their saber in the Persian Gulf by threatening to close the Straits of Hormuz, not to mention the former Marine who was sentenced to death this week for visiting his grandmother. How about the mounting evidence that Iran was supporting, both militarily and monetarily our enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan? Or did we provoke all of that shit, too?<\/p>\n

We neglected noticing that al Qaeda was entirely serious when they declared war on us. Are we going to make that mistake again simply by saying that we’re mistakenly rushing off to war without considering the consequences?<\/p>\n

I’m pretty sure that in the course of thirty years, we’ve considered the alternatives for dealing with Iran and they should have been the main target of the war against terror right from the beginning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
