This woman, Spike Dolomite Ward wrote a piece in the LA Times today entitled “‘Obamacare’ to the rescue A woman who felt President Obama had let the middle class down has changed her mind.<\/a>” It’s about a woman and her family who was struck by the tragedy of breast cancer and caught without health insurance.<\/p>\n

She goes into this big long sob story about how she works for a not-for-profit organization. Well, “works for” is being generous. Actually she’s the executive director of Arts in Education Aid Council, at the Armory Center for the Arts, in Pasadena, CA. Her husband used to work in the entertainment industry until he lost his job and decided to go into business for himself.<\/p>\n

Well, it seems that they were so strapped in this economy that they had to choose between their health insurance and their mortgage, and of course, they chose their mortgage. Well, it seems she contracted breast cancer. She writes “We chose to keep our house. We made a nerve-racking gamble, and we lost.”<\/p>\n

She gets to start paying premiums now instead of for those two years she skipped, she apologizes to the president for losing faith in him;<\/p>\n

Fortunately for me, I’ve been saved by the federal government’s Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan, something I had never heard of before needing it. It’s part of President Obama’s healthcare plan, one of the things that has already kicked in, and it guarantees access to insurance for U.S. citizens with preexisting conditions<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

She doesn’t mention that because of her irresponsibility, healthcare costs are rising for all of us, so we’re being forced to pay for her sloth. And it’s kind of funny that NOW they can seem to find the money to pay for her health insurance but they couldn’t last year.<\/p>\n

I found these by looking for her address in the White Pages and dialing it into Google Earth and Yahoo Real Estate<\/a>, so you don’t have to chew me out for publishing her address…it’s available publicly.<\/p>\n

But the larger question is why does she think she can take a gamble with my tax payer dollars and your health insurance premiums? And why do we have pay for her poor choices?<\/p>\n

So this is my public apology. I’m sorry I didn’t do enough of my own research to find out what promises the president has made good on. I’m sorry I didn’t realize that he really has stood up for me and my family, and for so many others like us. I’m getting a new bumper sticker to cover the one that says “Got nope.” It will say “ObamaCares.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
