It’s obvious that the President is doing his best to deflect blame from his own failures in the economic arena. I got the following email this morning from my BFF, Barry;<\/p>\n

Today I asked for a joint session of Congress where I will lay out a clear plan to get Americans back to work. Next week, I will deliver the details of the plan and call on lawmakers to pass it.<\/p>\n
Whether they will do the job they were elected to do is ultimately up to them.<\/p>\n
But both you and I can pressure them to do the right thing. We can send the message that the American people are playing by the rules and meeting their responsibilities — and it’s time for our leaders in Congress to meet theirs.<\/p>\n
And we must hold them accountable if they don’t.<\/p>\n
So I’m asking you to stand with me in calling on Congress to step up and take action on jobs:<\/p>\n
No matter how things go in the weeks and months ahead, this will be an important challenge for our organization.<\/p>\n
It’s been a long time since Congress was focused on what the American people need them to be focused on.<\/p>\n
I know that you’re frustrated by that. I am, too.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Yeah, it has been a long time since Congress focused on the issues important to us. But this Congress has been in session less than eight months. Where was the Congress when we needed them to head of the economic problems by reining in Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac? They were trying to defund the war no less than six times in 2007, completely ignoring the economy. <\/p>\n
And if the President’s proposals are going to be so effective, why has he waited until now to roll them out? People were losing their jobs while he was vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard. These can’t be new ideas – so why do they have to wait until next week? Unless, of course, politics matter more than jobs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
