Well, apparently, the National Personnel Records Center can&#8217;t find a record of him ever serving;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Lauve.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26323\" title=\"Lauve\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Lauve.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Lauve.png 587w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Lauve-268x300.png 268w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The word is that he actually did serve for a few weeks at boot camp and then WWII ended so they let him go home. But if that&#8217;s true, it seems that there would be a record of that.
