{"id":26163,"date":"2011-08-12T09:53:18","date_gmt":"2011-08-12T13:53:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=26163"},"modified":"2011-08-12T09:53:18","modified_gmt":"2011-08-12T13:53:18","slug":"brian-terrys-family-denied-victim-status-in-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=26163","title":{"rendered":"Brian Terry&#8217;s family denied victim status in trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2011\/08\/11\/us-attorneys-office-rejects-family-slain-border-patrol-agent-as-crime-victims\/?test=latestnews\">Fox News<\/a> reports that the family of murdered Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry has been denied their request to intervene in the case against Jamie Avila, the Pheonix man who purchased the weapon that eventually killed Agent Terry.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke argues because the family was not &#8220;directly or proximately harmed&#8221; by the illegal purchase of the murder weapon, it does not meet the definition of &#8220;crime victim&#8221; in the Avila case.
