Patton would be offended if he knew that the Army was marketing a cologne under his name and visage, although I&#8217;m sure he&#8217;d approve that a portion of the purchase <a href=\"http:\/\/militarytimes.com\/blogs\/outside-the-wire\/2011\/08\/05\/slap-on-some-patton-the-armys-official-cologne\/\">price goes to help veterans<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Um, it\u2019s for the vets? It\u2019s advertised as donating \u201ca percentage\u201d of its proceeds to the VA and the services. What does that mean?<\/p>\n<p>The other services are in on this too, with \u201cThe American Line\u201d by Parfumologie. On the office schwag table, we have Air Force\u2019s \u201cStealth,\u201d which smells inappropriately earthy. The Marines\u2019 \u201cDevil Dog\u201d just made our nostrils burn.<\/p>\n<p>Patton we don\u2019t have, but the name conjures the smell of an old leather satchel, North Africa, the inside of a World War I tank, and beatings.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, if you&#8217;re slapping all of the sissy cowards around you and no one is paying you any attention, this might get you the media coverage you deserve. If you&#8217;re warning about the Russians, and no one is misquoting you, get some Patton cologne.
