Last night I first read on Ace of Spades<\/a> that Andrea Mitchell-Greenspan was accusing John McCain of cheating in the Saddleback non-debate. From Michelle Malkin<\/a>;<\/p>\n

NBC\u2019s Andrea Mitchell spread<\/a> the unsubstantiated rumor that somehow McCain heard Obama\u2019s questions while on his drive. The nutroots<\/a> went, well, nuts. The NYTimes piled on (\u201cDespite Assurances, McCain Wasn\u2019t In a \u2018Cone of Silence\u2019<\/a>\u201c). The McCain camp has protested<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And now we have the spectacle of the Democrat presidential nominee and his press entourage bleating about the \u201ccone of silence\u201d because he didn\u2019t fare as well as his opponent.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Gateway Pundit<\/a> writes;<\/p>\n

Well, at least they admitted that McCain was sensational last night.<\/p>\n

UPDATE:<\/strong> Paster Warren to nutroots<\/strong><\/a>: “McCain did not violate ‘cone of silence.'”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0CNN reports<\/a> that the Obama campaign is being very magnanimous about it all;<\/p>\n

For their part, an Obama spokesperson told CNN\u2019s Mike Roselli they are not pursuing whether McCain heard any of the other questions. They say they assuming McCain had the same information they did.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I guess they figured they’ve already used up all of their pre-convention whiner points. But that won’t stop the morons in the nutroot community from forcing us to listen to their idiocy for the next four years of a McCain presidency.\u00a0 We’ve had to listen to them blather on about President Bush’s addictions even though he’s never shown a tendency towards cocaine use or alcoholism…and we never hear anything about Obama’s own admitted cocaine abuse.<\/p>\n

If McCain or Bush had performed as Obama did Saturday night, we’d never hear the end of it from the Left, but somehow because McCain did well, he must’ve cheated. A quick trip to the DU forums and we discover that somehow the FReepers are involved, too;<\/p>\n
