{"id":22769,"date":"2011-03-31T12:27:29","date_gmt":"2011-03-31T16:27:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=22769"},"modified":"2011-03-31T12:27:29","modified_gmt":"2011-03-31T16:27:29","slug":"doj-lawyers-acted-fairly-in-nbp-voter-intimidation-case-says-doj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=22769","title":{"rendered":"DoJ lawyers acted fairly in NBP voter-intimidation case says DoJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>in case you missed this yesterday, the Department of Justice&#8217;s Office of Professional Responsibility announced that there was nothing political in the Department of Justice lawyers when they decided not to prosecute members of the New Black Panther Party for intimidating voters outside of a polling place in Philadelphia in 2008. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2011\/mar\/30\/voter-intimidation-case-handled-fairly\/\">Yeah, I&#8217;m surprised, too<\/a>;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In a letter this week, the OPR said its seven-month inquiry \u201cfound no evidence\u201d that the decision to dismiss the case against the New Black Panther Party and two of its members was \u201cpredicated on political considerations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The office said the Justice attorneys \u201cacted appropriately in the exercise of their supervisory duties\u201d and added that the ruling came after a top department official had appropriately consulted with and notified career lawyers, supervisors and the department\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe found no evidence of improper political interference or influence from within or outside the department in connection with the decision in this case,\u201d the OPR wrote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Why would there be any interference? The numbnuts had their marching orders since the day they were appointed.
