As I wrote earlier, MoveOn dot Org is upset that the Republicans are staging a revolt on the floor of the House this week demanding that Speaker Pelosi recognize that this is a crisis and that Congress do something about it instead of taking an well-deserved vacation after accomplishing absolutely nothing in the last two years. Under the gaze of Ulysses S. Grant MoveOn.org tried to protest for $10\/gallon gas today. General Grant didn’t look pleased.<\/p>\n

When I first got there, the ugly little Code Pink troll I see at every single protest was there without the rest of the trolls putting up this sign;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Move On folks were just so pleased with themselves putting together this little impromptu event;<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

And they had the undivided attention of the media<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

But that all changed when the evil Republican groups seemingly came from no where with their profane signs about drilling oil (gasp!) and driving down the price for the working people of the nation<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Of course this drew the media’s attention away from MoveOn<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

So MoveOn rushed in their troops<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Some of the Republican groups I was able to identify were Free Republic<\/a>, Americans for Prosperity<\/a>, National Taxpayer’s Union<\/a> and Freedom Works<\/a>. There were a couple of discussions between sides and a couple of young girls from Move On tried to tear up signs the Republicans had. One guy, who later identified himself as a retired LtCDR in the Navy (he showed me his ID card), physically threatened one of the Republicans.<\/p>\n

The moonbats admitted that they wanted gas to go to $10\/gallon so people would use less and the price would fall. I don’t know, it didn’t make sense to me either. It might work with gold or silver, but not with a commodity that has the effect that oil has on the economy. But we’re talking about a group of short-sighted morons who smoked pot through ECON 101 in the 60s.<\/p>\n

This group was especially raucous. I’m usually able to keep my mouth shut and just film, but when they started physically attacking peaceful opposition, I couldn’t control myself – you’ll see all of that on the video. With one group, I talked with them for about ten minutes and when it seemed like the discussion was over I walked away and they taunted me with “Oh, yeah, just walk away.” I guess I was supposed to listen to their dumbasses until I finally fell under their spell.<\/p>\n

Their ideas are so cockeyed and naive it was unbelievable. One guy was handing out pamphlets declaring that the evil Republicans wanted to drill off the coast of Florida – that it was a lie and there was no oil there. I asked him, if there’s no oil there why are the Chinese and Cubans drill off of Florida’s coast. He was dumbstruck (I wish I’d had the video on) and just stood there with his mouth open trying to find words. His buddy helped him out by saying “The Chinese aren’t drilling there”. Oh, OK.<\/p>\n

One old white guy got upset when I called him “you people”. He told me it was racist and demeaning. Since I’m an old white guy, too, who was I being racist toward? And I meant it to be demeaning. He threatened to kick my ass if I said it again…but when I said it again, he didn’t. Blowhard.<\/p>\n

If there were any false solutions, it was those offered by Move On.<\/p>\n

This guy was with Americans for Prosperity and had some pretty good discussions with the moonbats. He actually came on his bicycle…so much for evil Republicans in their Hummers, huh;<\/p>\n

And, of course rongkirby, frequent commenter here was there with his trusty flag<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I finally got my highlights clip on YouTube so I took down the raw clips, but those of you that linked to them, I’m leaving them on YouTube. I edited about 20 minutes of video down to just over 8 1\/2 minutes. Hope you enjoy it.<\/p>\n

In this video, the first moments that the conservatives made their entrance and surprised the Move On folks. Then the\u00a0 entire assault on one conservative. A woman asks me where we’ll be in fifty years if we don’t stop using oil – then tells me that the “fat cats are sitting” on a secret alternative energy source.<\/p>\n

An old moonbat explains how $10\/gallon gas will drive the price down (huh?) and old baldy tries to scare a young guy by telling him the military will send him (a merchant marine) into an Army line unit with two weeks of combat training. He’s so full of crap and I think I let him know that – you tell me.<\/p>\n

But you’ll get to hear me add my two cents occasionally. I usually try to stay out of the discussion and just film, but they pressed my buttons when they started pushing and tearing signs.<\/p>\n

Those MoveOn clowns are just so irritating.<\/p>\n
