So everyone is emailing us to let us know that Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell will end this week since the Senate voted to repeal the policy. The Stars & Stripes<\/a> sent us this;<\/p>\n

In a stunning turnaround, the Senate voted 65-31 Saturday to repeal the \u201cdon\u2019t ask, don\u2019t tell\u201d law as soon as the White House and the Pentagon certify a plan to minimize any disruption to the armed services that may result from the abolition of the controversial law.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Too late, it’s already an unnecessary disruption – anything that has taken this long to resolve which has nothing to do with our national security is a disruption. The President emailed us this;<\/p>\n

Moments ago, the Senate voted to end “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”<\/p>\n

When that bill reaches my desk, I will sign it, and this discriminatory law will be repealed.<\/p>\n

Gay and lesbian service members — brave Americans who enable our freedoms — will no longer have to hide who they are.<\/p>\n

The fight for civil rights, a struggle that continues, will no longer include this one.<\/p>\n

This victory belongs to you. Without your commitment, the promise I made as a candidate would have remained just that.<\/p>\n

Instead, you helped prove again that no one should underestimate this movement. Every phone call to a senator on the fence, every letter to the editor in a local paper, and every message in a congressional inbox makes it clear to those who would stand in the way of justice: We will not quit.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If only the President was this committed to fighting the war in Afghanistan to a successful conclusion. The only real upside to this whole discussion is that now dicksmith’s material has been cut to about a quarter. What will they have to talk about at VetVoice now?<\/p>\n
