{"id":20844,"date":"2010-10-14T09:40:28","date_gmt":"2010-10-14T13:40:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=20844"},"modified":"2010-10-14T09:43:13","modified_gmt":"2010-10-14T13:43:13","slug":"three-states-under-doj-investigation-for-absentee-ballots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=20844","title":{"rendered":"Three States under DoJ investigation for absentee ballots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to the lawsuit DoJ has filed against <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2010\/10\/13\/AR2010101306304.html?wprss=rss_metro\">New York<\/a> for failing to mail absentee ballots to voters in time for the votes to be counted, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.my9tv.com\/dpp\/my9_news\/Justice-Department-New-Mexico-Reach-Agreement-on-MOVE-Act-Enforcement_52045826\">New Mexico<\/a> is also facing penalties as well as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfoxchicago.com\/dpp\/news\/politics\/military-ballots-illinois-investigation-cook-county-20101013\">Illinois<\/a>. Illinois claims that they&#8217;re in compliance, though;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Officials with two of Illinois\u2019 largest jurisdictions \u2014 the Chicago Board of Elections and the Cook County Board of Elections\u2014 said Wednesday that they mailed ballots on time.<\/p>\n<p>But Courtney Greve, spokeswoman for the Cook County Board of Elections, said people can still request overseas ballots until Oct. 28 and receive them via fax or e-mail. She said the board has gotten about 300 of those requests.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So why would the DOJ be questioning their compliance with the MOVE Act? <\/p>\n<p>All of this sudden concern about absentee ballots (read that; military votes) is fine, but why wasn&#8217;t anyone concerned about it a year ago when it could have done some good?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve noticed that all three states are Blue States.
