{"id":20472,"date":"2010-09-16T09:47:16","date_gmt":"2010-09-16T13:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=20472"},"modified":"2010-09-16T09:47:16","modified_gmt":"2010-09-16T13:47:16","slug":"what-the-hell-is-middle-class-anyway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=20472","title":{"rendered":"What the Hell is Middle Class, Anyway?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, the <a href=\"http:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/tech-ticker\/the-u.s.-middle-class-is-being-wiped-out-here's-the-stats-to-prove-it-520657.html?tickers=%5EDJI,%5EGSPC,SPY,MCD,WMT,XRT,DIA\">news<\/a> has been full of stories about the shrinking middle class and explosion of \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/news\/health\/2010-06-08-1Achild08_ST_N.htm\">poverty<\/a>\u00a0in the US.\u00a0\u00a0The Department of Commerce has announced new Poverty Guidelines, and you can read two separate perspectives on this decision, <a href=\"http:\/\/uspoverty.change.org\/blog\/view\/will_the_revised_poverty_line_really_change_anything\">here<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freerepublic.com\/focus\/f-bloggers\/2469442\/posts\">here<\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0 Commerce says they will still use the old guides for program eligibility and the new ones to evaluate program effectiveness and such.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0How much poverty is\u00a0there<em> really<\/em>\u00a0 in America.\u00a0 Listen, I live so far below the &#8220;poverty line&#8221;, you&#8217;d need a back hoe to dig us all out.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What is making people so damn poor?\u00a0\u00a0And while were at it&#8230;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.politicsdaily.com\/2010\/05\/11\/michelle-obama-unveils-anti-childhood-obesity-action-plan\/\"> fat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On paper my family is the poster family for poverty in America.\u00a0 But based on the loose definition of Middle Class&#8211; home-ownership, college, kids in college, and vacation (we went on one last year, woo woo)&#8211; put us just inside this holy grail.\u00a0\u00a0 But while the government tries to &#8220;save&#8221; other lower income families&#8230; they are destroying their quality of life.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s an example of real \u00a0POVERTY:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"india kids\" src=\"http:\/\/www.indiabuzzing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/earn-rs-455-a-month-cross-poverty-line1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"443\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ok, I don&#8217;t want to see people living in America\u00a0living \u00a0like that. Chances are, if they do, its because of something the parents lack, and I don&#8217;t mean money.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But social manipulation has detroyed the quality of life of those who live with less in the United States.\u00a0 We&#8217;ve told them that life will get better if you put Jr. in Head Start and get a job, but then act shocked when the kids, and moms, get\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.terra.com\/latin-in-america\/news\/president_obama_to_deliver_remarks_at_congressional_hispanic_institute_awards\/hof11627\">fat\u00a0<\/a>.
