{"id":20157,"date":"2010-08-18T08:37:30","date_gmt":"2010-08-18T12:37:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=20157"},"modified":"2010-08-18T08:37:30","modified_gmt":"2010-08-18T12:37:30","slug":"nyt-bold-stonings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=20157","title":{"rendered":"NYT: Bold stonings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/08\/17\/world\/asia\/17stoning.html?_r=1&#038;scp=2&#038;sq=rod%20nordland&#038;st=cse\">New York Times<\/a> shows their biases again this morning with the following headline in regards to the Taliban&#8217;s sentencing to stoning of a young Afghan couple who committed the heinous crime of eloping;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Bold-Display.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20158\" title=\"Bold Display\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Bold-Display.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Bold-Display.jpg 603w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/Bold-Display-300x179.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bold? Really? It&#8217;s not cowardly or barbaric? It&#8217;s bold?<\/p>\n<p>The couple was lured back from their nuptials by family members and then seized by Taliban authorities. Reports are that the village enjoyed  the day&#8217;s festivities;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cPeople were very happy seeing this,\u201d Mr. Khan maintained, saying the crowd was festive and cheered during the stoning. The couple, he said, \u201cdid a bad thing.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>On the up side, Amnesty International took time out from condemning the United States to notice the Taliban for a minute;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Amnesty International condemned the latest stonings, calling them the first such executions since the fall of the Taliban in 2001.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Of course, the half-measures this administration has taken in the war against these criminals only encourage them.
