Sorry, just had to throw that out there.<\/p>\n<p>New &#8220;lawful orders&#8221; wrinkle &#8211; new billboard financed by Defiance.org and Whistleblower Aid, urge troops to &#8220;Only Obey Lawful Orders&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Public-facing campaign materials describe the effort as a joint initiative combining billboards with posters and digital outreach and pointing servicemembers to a web portal for guidance and referrals.<\/p>\n<p>A separate report describing the Florida rollout states the billboards were placed near MacDill Air Force Base and near installations in\/near Doral.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.military.com\/feature\/2025\/12\/27\/billboards-telling-troops-obey-only-lawful-orders.html?ESRC=eb_251231.nl&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=eb&amp;utm_campaign=20251231\">Military.com<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The campaign says service members should consult legal guidance if they feel orders cross the line of legality (which is a right they already have anyway.) In and of itself, this just repeats the Code of Conduct and UCMJ. I do, however, expect that at least a few Snuffies may decide on their own to disobey <em>uncomfortable<\/em> orders because they <em>think<\/em> they can, rather than should. Might prove to be a poor decision. This time, though, authorities were johnny-on-the-spot.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Finnish police said in a statement that the vessel suspected of causing the damage was found with its anchor chain lowered into the sea in Finland\u2019s waters, while the damage site itself was in Estonia\u2019s waters. The police later named the vessel as the Fitburg, a Saint Vincent and the Grenadines flagged cargo ship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Finnish National Police Commissioner Ilkka Koskim\u00e4ki said at a news conference on Wednesday afternoon that all 14 members of the ship\u2019s crew have been detained, adding that the crew are citizens of Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The damaged cable runs between Helsinki and Talinn, Estonia. The ship had just sailed from St. Petersburg, Russia.
