A presidential election poll by The Argument\/Verasight<\/a> shows that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would edge out Vice President JD Vance 51% to 49%. Cortez Acknowledged that these polls were three years out but then insisted that she would ‘stomp’ Vance. The breakdown of the poll shows the usual demographic voting tendencies and hint that Cortez would receive strong support from the Hispanic voters. Keep an eye on what Virginia Democrats do in Richmond starting the 2026 legislative year as a hint of what national Democrats would do should they regain control of the White House and Congress.<\/p>\n

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., on Wednesday brushed aside a hypothetical 2028 presidential matchup with Vice President JD Vance.<\/p>\n

Shown a poll from The Argument\/Verasight<\/a> suggesting she narrowly leads Vance 51% to 49%, Ocasio-Cortez waved off the numbers as premature before delivering a line that quickly made the rounds online.<\/p>\n

“These polls like three years out \u2014 they are what they are,” she said.<\/p>\n

“But let the record show I would stomp him. I would stomp him!”<\/p>\n

With the next presidential election still years away, most strategists treat such surveys as conversation starters, not forecasts.<\/p>\n

Ocasio-Cortez, 35, has never run statewide, much less nationally, and has repeatedly said she’s focused on her work in Congress.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
