The Anchorage, AK School District calendar refers to Veteran’s Day not by its proper – and legal – name, but as a “student release professional development day.”<\/p>\n

While the school district did not recognize the holiday on their calendar, they did post on social media on Veterans Day, saying, “the Anchorage School District extends our deepest gratitude to the veterans in our schools, families, and community for their courage, sacrifice, and dedication” and “your service and example inspire our students every day.”Fox News<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Talk is cheap. Their ACTIONS say otherwise.<\/p>\n

“The Washington Post is proud of its rigorous, accurate reporting,” a spokesperson for the paper told Fox News Digital.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Several lawmakers cited testimony from Admiral Mitch Bradley in which he denied such orders having been given.<\/p>\n

Moving on along, according to The Independent, when you go through the actual criminal records of all of these ICE detainees, a significant fraction of these “worst of the worst” being rounded up don’t have a criminal record.<\/p>\n

Less than 30 percent of those arrested in those operations had prior criminal convictions, according to an analysis from The New York Times<\/em> using arrest data obtained by the Deportation Data Project. An even smaller share of those arrested had been convicted of a violent crime.<\/p>\n

The most common convictions were for driving under the influence and other traffic offenses.<\/p>\n

The data closely mirrors national trends in immigration arrest data through Trump\u2019s mass deportation campaign, with the share of people in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody with criminal convictions plummeting to just 28 percent in October \u2013 down from 46 percent at the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n

ICE arrested more than 1,100 people in D.C. from August through mid-October, more than triple the amount of ICE arrests in the city within the first seven months of the year.<\/p>\n

In Chicago, only 15 percent of immigrants detained in the weeks-long \u201cOperation Midway Blitz\u201d surge led by Customs and Border Protection had a prior criminal conviction. Only 3 percent had prior convictions for violent crimes.<\/p>\n

ICE data through October 15 analyzed by the Deportation Data Project show that the vast majority of those arrests in Chicago \u2014 67 percent \u2014 have only civil immigration violations, such as overstaying a visa or crossing the border illegally.\u00a0Independent<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Me, I’m all over deporting – or worse – illegal serious criminals. But it sure sounds like we are favoring quantity over quality.<\/p>\n

Let’s go back to the chaotic Afghan withdrawal. We left a bit behind on our way out.<\/p>\n

“Due to the Taliban takeover, SIGAR was unable to inspect any of the equipment provided to, or facilities constructed for, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) following the Afghan government\u2019s collapse,” the report said. “However, DOD determined that the United States left behind approximately $7.1 billion in material and equipment it had given to the ANDSF.<\/p>\n

“Similarly, any remaining ANDSF facilities that were not destroyed, can be assumed to be under Taliban control. These U.S. taxpayer-funded equipment, weapons, and facilities have formed the core of the Taliban security apparatus.”<\/p>\n

A Pentagon watchdog found the following year that “Afghan forces had 316,260 weapons, worth $511.8 million, as well as ammunition and other equipment in their stocks when the former government fell, though the operational condition of these items was unknown.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
