A police spokesperson said he was in a part of the airport in which he should not have been and would not leave.<\/p>\n The man brandished a knife when police asked him to leave, the spokesperson said. Officers deployed non-lethal responses, then one officer shot the man after he allegedly continuing moving forward.<\/p>\n FOX News reported the man died at the scene.<\/p>\n St. Louis Airport Police released a statement on the incident, saying in part, \u201cThe suspect refused to drop the weapon and was tased by one police officer. Dilyard described the incident to Oklahoma-based KOKH Fox 25.<\/p>\n \u201cHe threatened me, and said he was gonna slice my head off, and that\u2019s when I tried to call the police. He started throwing things at me, came behind the counter,\u201d Dilyard said. \u201cI tried to run off, but he grabbed his hands around my neck, and pushed me out of the counter space, and that\u2019s when I pulled out my gun and I shot him.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite police ruling the incident as self-defense, 7-Eleven\u2019s human resources department contacted Dilyard to inform her she would be terminated \u201cfor violating policy,\u201d according to a GoFundMe page she set up.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
