SAINT PAUL, Minn. \u2014 A federal jury has convicted Mikhail Robin Wicker, also known as Michael Robin Wicker, for wire fraud, mail fraud, and fraudulent use of military honors.<\/div>\n

U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen says Wicker, 39 from Clay County, falsely claimed to be a decorated U.S. Marine, fabricating stories of deployment to Iraq in 2005 and receiving prestigious military medals. He used these falsehoods to obtain over $140,000 in benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to court documents.<\/div>\n

Evidence showed Wicker never served in the military. He supported his scheme with forged documents, including a fake discharge certificate and medal certificates. Marine veterans and federal agents testified, confirming Wicker’s deception and his presence in Michigan during the supposed deployment period.<\/div>\n
