{"id":17613,"date":"2010-02-23T07:21:15","date_gmt":"2010-02-23T12:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/valorguardians.com\/blog\/?p=17613"},"modified":"2010-02-23T07:21:15","modified_gmt":"2010-02-23T12:21:15","slug":"dicksmith-santorum-is-a-meany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/?p=17613","title":{"rendered":"dicksmith: Santorum is a meany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At VoteVets this morning, our favorite blogger at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vetvoice.com\/showDiary.do;jsessionid=32F8BCCBDF0AE701FCC16319A7827879?diaryId=3752\">VetsVoice<\/a>, dicksmith, says Rick Santorum is a big meany for things he said at CPAC about the military leadership in regards to Don&#8217;t Ask, Don&#8217;t Tell;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Some people say: whatever the generals say. I&#8217;m not too sure that we haven&#8217;t so indoctrinated the officer corps in this country that they can actually see straight to make the right decision.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wow. That&#8217;s a fairly radical statement, far more bizarre than anything you&#8217;d ever hear from VoteVets, where we, you know, have respect for our military leaders.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yeah, VoteVets would never accuse the military of choosing the politically expedient option. Well, except this one time when Jon Soltz accused General Petreaus of doing exactly that;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>General Petraeus was given an order &#8211; find a military solution for Iraq where there is none, and without concern for troop overextension or the larger war on terror. General Petraeus followed his orders, giving the president what he wanted to hear, and now the president will hide behind that to justify his failure as a commander in chief.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So when Soltz says that Petreaus has been brainwashed, that&#8217;s OK. What about when VoteVets&#8217; parent organization ran this ad;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/generalbetrayusad.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17614 aligncenter\" title=\"generalbetrayusad\" src=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/generalbetrayusad.jpg\" alt=\"generalbetrayusad\" width=\"200\" height=\"376\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/generalbetrayusad.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.azuse.cloud\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/02\/generalbetrayusad-159x300.jpg 159w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t remember a hue and cry from Vote Vets. I guess only some issues get their dander up.<\/p>\n<p>dicksmith also disinters that fossilized term &#8220;chickenhawk&#8221; in refering to Santorum&#8217;s opinion on DADT.
