No charges filed after shooting leaves one dead in Buncombe County<\/strong><\/p>\n

No charges will be filed after a shooting left one person dead in Buncombe County, North Carolina, on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Around 6 p.m., deputies with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Kreston Drive in the Bear Creek community.<\/p>\n

When deputies arrived, they found 55-year-old William Jennings Bryan Clay III dead.<\/p>\n

According to authorities, it was determined that deadly force was used in self-defense and in self-defense of others within the home.<\/p>\n

“This case highlights how the dedication of BCSO personnel to impartial fact finding empowers those who act lawfully in self-defense,” Captain Chris Stockton said. “This incident has forever changed the lives of several community members. Again, our hearts go out to them as they navigate this complex time.”<\/p>\n

Armed Woman Fatally Shoots Felon<\/strong><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a certain chill that comes with hearing \u201cburglary in progress.\u201d It\u2019s not a movie, not a drill\u2014just pure fear running on adrenaline. That\u2019s exactly what played out in Decatur, Alabama, when a woman found herself face-to-face with a violent criminal in her own home.<\/p>\n

The 911 audio says it all: whispers, a man screaming, and then the words \u201cshe has shot that male.\u201d When police arrived, 46-year-old Narado Brinkley was down\u2014shot inside the house, pronounced dead on scene.<\/p>\n

Brinkley wasn\u2019t new to this game. Records show he\u2019d already served time for robbery, burglary, felon-in-possession, and drug charges. A career criminal who thought he could take what wasn\u2019t his. But this time, he picked the wrong address.<\/p>\n

Because inside that house was a woman who had already made her decision long before the break-in ever happened: her life was worth defending.<\/p>\n

As Colion Noir put it, \u201cThat gun didn\u2019t make her violent\u2014it made her equal.\u201d<\/p>\n

She didn\u2019t go looking for a fight. She called 911. And, she did everything right. But when the moment came, the only thing standing between her and a violent man was her own training, her own mindset, and a firearm.<\/p>\n

Without it, she\u2019s smaller, weaker, and trapped. With it, the balance of power flips instantly. That\u2019s what a gun does\u2014it\u2019s not aggression, it\u2019s a force multiplier for survival.<\/p>\n

And yet, even after doing everything right, she still has to live with the weight of it\u2014the shot, the sound, the investigation. The case is headed to the Morgan County District Attorney\u2019s Office for grand jury review.<\/p>\n

As Noir reminds us, that\u2019s the part anti-gunners never understand: the gun doesn\u2019t make someone reckless\u2014it gives them a fighting chance to stay alive when seconds count and help is minutes away.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t theory. It\u2019s real life. And sometimes, reality gets loud.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
