Remember that “relief flotilla” of boats bringing aid to Gaza Looks like they had a relatively smooth sail across the Mediterranean – at least until the Israeli Navy showed up. After action reports say all ships were stopped, and none actually got through the blockading ships and reached Gaza.\u00a0 Most of the 450 detained were taken to the Israeli prison in the Negev, Ketsiot, before the process of repatriating them started.<\/p>\n

But of course, allegations of torture of the prisoners were reported –<\/p>\n

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said it offered voluntary deportation to all of the activists and those that remain in detention chose to stay there in order to go through a legal deportation process.<\/p>\n

On his return at Rome\u2019s Fiumicino Airport late Saturday, Italian journalist Saverio Tommasi said Israeli soldiers withheld medicines and treated prisoners \u201clike monkeys.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0AP<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe also saw Greta Thunberg at the port, in that case with her arms tied and an Israeli flag next to her, just a mockery,\u201d he said.HuffPost<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Not sure what they expected, but being treated as criminals apparently wasn’t on their wish list. Well, if ya trespass where you are told not to go – better be ready to handle the consequences.<\/p>\n

Might also note that this ‘torture’ and abuse was reported by AP and Al Jazeera. Neither is noted for its altruistic neutrality. It’s also worth noting that supposedly one of the centerpieces of this abuse, Greta Thunberg, did not report mistreatment.<\/p>\n

Let’s move on to someone else whose expectations didn’t pan out.<\/p>\n

Newly released records show that Pete Arredondo, the Uvalde school district chief, offered to resign a couple of months after the school shootings:<\/p>\n

Two months after\u00a0the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, then-school district police chief Pedro “Pete” Arredondo offered to resign in return for a $1.1 million payout.<\/p>\n

\n

The records include a July 2022 letter to Uvalde’s school superintendent from attorney George E. Hyde, who represented Arredondo at the time.\u00a0In the letter. Hyde argued that Arredondo should not be fired and should be allowed to resign under \u201chonorable conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Hyde wrote that Arredondo acted bravely during the May 24, 2022, shooting and that firing him would be \u201cillegal and unconstitutional.\u201dSan Antonio Express News<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Bravely” – well, on the list of descriptions of Arredondo, that word must certainly come at the end of the list. $1.1 million…that’s chutzpah.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

And we close with a story about one of Trump’s Chief of Staff’s Stephen Miller’s aides. Seems Anthony Salisbury was observed texting on Signal (when are these idiots gonna learn?)<\/p>\n

The messages, casually exchanged last weekend in a crowded, public space, show high-level officials in the Trump administration discussing the deployment of the Army\u2019s 82nd?Airborne…<\/p>\n

Over the course of several conversations, totaling dozens of messages, Salisbury chatted candidly, and at times profanely, about a wide range of matters with Hegseth\u2019s adviser Patrick Weaver and other high-ranking federal officials.\u00a0\u00a0Mediaite<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Apparently the discussions were visible enough for others to take shots of them. We already know some of these idiots don’t understand OPSEC; one would think that something as basic as “where are we sending crisis troops” should trigger at least a little discretion.<\/p>\n
