President Donald Trump addressed the United Nations but did not say things that a politician or diplomat would normally say. Instead, Trump rebuked the UN; from substandard escalator and teleprompter performances to the United Nation’s failure to fulfill its purpose. Trump also took aim at his predecessor’s delivering repeat disasters for the U.S.<\/p>\n

“And sadly, in all cases, the United Nations did not even try to help in any of them. I ended seven wars, dealt with the leaders of each and every one of these countries, and never even received a phone call from the United Nations offering to help in finalizing the deal.”<\/p>\n

Trump noted a broken escalator and telepromter shows the lack of respect the U.N. has for the U.S.<\/p>\n

“All I got from the United Nations was an escalator that, on the way up, stopped right in the middle,” Trump said. “If the first lady wasn’t in great shape, she would have fallen.<\/p>\n

“But she’s in great shape. We’re both in good shape. We both stood.<\/p>\n

“And then a teleprompter that didn’t work. These are the two things I got from the United Nations. A bad escalator and a bad teleprompter.”<\/p>\n

Trump boldly asked “what is the purpose of the United Nations?”<\/p>\n

“The U.N. has such tremendous potential,” Trump said. “I’ve always said it. It has such tremendous, tremendous potential. But it’s not even coming close to living up to that potential for the most part, at least for now.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
