Robles then escaped his house through a window and called 911, while the suspects ran away, police said.

Police responded and found a man shot one street north of the original incident. The man who had been shot had called 911 for help, police said. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Officers believe the man was shot by the homeowner who initially called police, according to the release. He is now in custody.

Maritza Hernandez, a neighbor, heard the gunshots. She said the Fort Worth Police Department responded within a few minutes. The bullets pierced through her fence and into the house she’s lived in for 45 years.

“Here is my niece’s room. She’s handicapped,” said Hernandez. “She sleeps here, and the bullet is right here. That’s crazy, right?” Hernandez points at a bullet hole in the window.

Hernandez said the suspect, who was shot, jumped the fence to her property, leaving a trail of blood from her side yard all the way to her front porch.

“There is blood everywhere,” she said.

Police believe two other suspects were also involved in the home invasion. They remained at large Friday afternoon.

0 / 1 / 2
WFFA

It’s just no fun when the intended victim is armed too.

2 wounded, 2 arrested in shooting on Detroit’s west side

Charles E. Ramirez
Detroit police arrested two suspects who shot and wounded two other men Thursday leaving a nightclub on the city’s west side, officials said.

Vernal Newson, commander of the Detroit Police Department’s Sixth Precinct, said the shooting happened at about 10 p.m. on the Southfield Freeway Service Drive near Joy Road.

He said the two victims, ages 19 and 23, got into a late-model, wide-body Dodge Charger when two people in a blue sedan approached and pulled alongside them.

“They were wearing masks and announced a holdup,” Newson said. “One of the victims in the Charger, a CPL holder, produced a weapon and one of the suspects in the blue vehicle (both) opened fire.”

Police said a witness to the gunfight produced his a weapon and fired at the blue sedan.

Newson said the suspects fled and were last seen heading south on the freeway’s service drive.

Officers arrived and issued an alert with a description of the suspects and their vehicle to authorities in the area, according to the commander.

He said officers with the precinct’s Robbery Detail who were nearby spotted the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and arrested the two occupants. Newson said they recovered two weapons and two ski masks from the suspect’s car.

Police said the victims were grazed by gunshots, and the Charger collided with another vehicle. The two victims were taken to a hospital where they are listed in stable condition, the commander said.

“We believe they were targeted for their vehicle,” Newson said. “It was a high-end Charger, a Scat Pack model. He was not chased, by no one. Was no one shooting at a car chasing it,” she said.

But the two men only made it about half a mile before crashing into a white car as it drove through an intersection. A utility pole ended up hitting the Cadillac, almost splitting it in two.

She said the ex-boyfriend Facetimed her multiple times from the scene of the crash, but didn’t say anything.

Police say it wasn’t until officers responded to the crash that they learned about the shooting.

The 16-year-old shooter returned home, where his mother said she called police and arranged for him to turn himself in.

He’s now been released and hasn’t been charged.

Both drivers involved in Thursday’s crash were taken to the hospital, police said.

Houston Public Works Director Randy Macchi released the following statement:

“Houston Public Works mourns the tragic loss of one of our employees.
