Suspect shot by \u2018good Samaritan\u2019 during attempted robbery at local McDonald\u2019s identified: Officials<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nEAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) \u2013 The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified a man killed at a local McDonald\u2019s.<\/p>\n

According to East Cleveland Mayor Lateek Shabazz, officers responded to the McDonald\u2019s on Euclid Avenue and Eddy Road Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

Multiple reports stated that a male suspect with a gun was holding up the fast food restaurant, city officials said.<\/p>\n

A preliminary investigation later revealed that the suspect was trying to rob the McDonald\u2019s when he was \u201cfired upon by a good Samaritan,\u201d the mayor\u2019s statement said.<\/p>\n

The suspect was taken to University Hospitals for his injuries.<\/p>\n

According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, he was identified as Ben Jones, 23, of Cleveland.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Man shot by homeowner after allegedly trying to break into home in Philadelphia’s Kensington section<\/strong><\/p>\n

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A man was shot multiple times by a homeowner after he was allegedly trying to break into a home in Philadelphia’s Kensington section.<\/p>\n

It happened around 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday in the 1800 block of East Thayer Street .<\/p>\n

Police arrived to find a 55-year-old man shot several times in the leg.<\/p>\n

They say the man was climbing a ladder in the rear of the home when the 22-year-old homeowner saw him and fired shots.<\/p>\n

The 55-year-old continued to climb the ladder, went onto a second-floor roof and forced his way into a home next door.<\/p>\n

Police took the man into custody.<\/p>\n

He’s being held as a prisoner while being treated for his gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n

So far, no charges have been filed against homeowner.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nElpidio Reyna, an alleged violent rioter who was captured on video throwing rocks at the windshields of moving Border Patrol vehicles in Los Angeles, was arrested on Wednesday at the U.S.-Mexico border.<\/p>\n

Video of the attack allegedly shows Reyna, who is wearing what appears to be a motorcycle helmet, picking up several large rocks on the side of the road and lobbing them at Border Patrol vehicles as they pass by. The alleged attack occurred in Paramount, California, on June 7, during the height of the Los Angeles anti-ICE riots.<\/p>\n

Bill Essayli, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, released video of the alleged violent rioter being picked up at the San Ysidro port of entry in San Diego. One federal officer was injured as a result of the attack.<\/p>\n

According to Essayli, Reyna, whom he called a “dangerous felon,” surrendered to federal authorities at the U.S.-Mexico border to face a felony charge of assault on a federal officer. He was apprehended by a U.S. Border Patrol officer who was inside of the vehicles damaged by the attack and “could have been killed in last month\u2019s dangerous and reckless attack.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
