Overnight fatal shooting in Belleville; suspect in custody<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nBELLEVILLE, Ill. \u2013 A 50-year-old man was shot and killed overnight outside a home in Belleville.<\/p>\n

According to a Belleville Police Department spokesperson, the shooting happened just before 12:55 a.m. in the 500 block of North 40th Street. Officers were informed that a reported disturbance ended in a shooting.<\/p>\n

Police arrived to find the victim in the front yard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers rendered first aid until EMS arrived. However, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

One person was taken into custody at the scene, police said. The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
