1 dead, 1 injured after attempted drug-related armed robbery in Antioch<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nNASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two men were shot in the parking lot of a liquor store on Murfreesboro Pike early Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the two men were allegedly there to commit a drug-related armed robbery.<\/p>\n

Shortly after 4 a.m., MNPD officers responded to 2622 Murfreesboro Pike, where they found a man\u2019s body on the ground and other evidence of a shooting.<\/p>\n

The body of the dead man was identified as 42-year-old Brandon Watson, police said. His accomplice, 44-year-old Antione Ellis, was shot in the neck and drove himself to a local hospital.<\/p>\n

Once Ellis is released from the hospital, police said he will be arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and felony gun possession.<\/p>\n

According to police, Ellis and Watson arrived in a Jeep and a short time later, a Dodge Charger arrived and parked next to the Jeep.<\/p>\n

Watson reportedly walked towards the Charger and began talking to the driver as Ellis emerged with a gun.<\/p>\n

Ellis reportedly pointed the weapon at the interior of the car as Watson attempted to rob the driver by reaching inside.<\/p>\n

The driver of the charger was able to break free and fired shots out the window, causing Watson and Ellis to run.<\/p>\n

After the driver reportedly shot Watson and Ellis, police said he fled the scene.<\/p>\n

MNPD is pursuing leads as it works to find the driver of the Charger.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE\/KGPE) \u2014 At least three suspects are wanted after using a car to ram into a family-owned jewelry store near Cedar and Herndon Avenues, Fresno police say.<\/p>\n

Exclusive surveillance video shows the suspects forcefully backing into the front of the business at least twice.<\/p>\n

Nader Hussein and Mohammad Younes\u2019 families own Alquds Jewelry. Nader said he was inside with other people, including two kids, during the attempted robbery.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe saw the car going in reverse and we thought they were just trying to park normally because they messed up, but they went, like, forward again and drive and they reversed fully in the back and they hit the glass in the door and we just all got scared,\u201d Nader Hussein said.<\/p>\n

Nader\u2019s younger brother was right next to the glass as the car attempted to drive in.<\/p>\n

\u201cI went to grab my brother from the chair. He was sitting in the front. I took him inside and we just called the police,\u201d Hussein said.<\/p>\n

Mohammad tells us he was at home when he found out his family\u2019s store was possibly robbed.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear my dad and my mom screaming. I\u2019m like, what\u2019s going on? They said the store got robbed. I jumped out, sprinted out the door. I wasn\u2019t even wearing my shoes correctly,\u201d Mohammad Younes said.<\/p>\n

As the suspects tried to get away, an employee at a nearby business fired a gun at least once at the suspects\u2019 getaway cars. Fresno Police said right now, that man is not facing charges.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur detectives will be interviewing that civilian to see if there\u2019s any crimes or any statutes that he may have violated,\u201d Fresno Police Department\u2019s Henry Garcia said.<\/p>\n

Mohammad said this isn\u2019t the first time their store was targeted by robbers.<\/p>\n

In Friday\u2019s attempt, he said the suspects used at least two getaway cars and left the white Lexus SUV behind.

\n\u201cThey do believe that this is possibly involved with or the suspects are possibly involved with other robberies throughout the state,\u201d Garcia said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
